Hi, I'm an acoustic singer/songwriter based at Mango Hill near Brisbane, specialising in Environmental Folk songs. I'm also a bit of a Grey Nomad with 'The Swagman' my old Hiace campervan. Last August I visited Carnarvon Gorge and was so moved by it I wrote a song called 'Takarakka' about the gorge and traveling there to find peace and tranquility. I've also written songs about the Koala, Dingo, the Reef and played my Song for the Koala' at the 2nd National Koala Conference in Coffs Harbour last year. I've been invited to go back to Carnarvon Gorge and play live there some time which I'd really like to do. I also tried some of the festivals although I was also told by a promoter that at my age, 56, I was far too old (apparently you have to be between 15 and 25) ! I've put the song up on YouTube with some photos I took at the time so please feel free to leave some comments . You can check out more of my songs at

. Thanks and hope to meet some of you on the road sometime !

Too old? How cheeky. Good on you for having a go and good on you for living after sadly losing your wife. Sorry to hear about her passing. Lovely song and the photos are magical. I wish you happy and safe travels.

Hi Dave and welcome. I have just spent 10 days wandering the streets of Tamworth during the festival and I can tell you the best buskers were not under 25. So keep it up. While there I joined the Balladeers club so I get a newsletter of where the gigs are.
