G'day Geoff,
Sounds like a good idea we seem to take a mountain of clothes and never use them.
We hope to never spend a winter in the cold again.
Thanks

G'day Sharon,
Any advice certainly helps, as you say it all depends but it is
the only thing we can't seem to get right.
Last trip I took way too much and just shuffled it around and around. Books are our down fall as we are both avid readers and we have an e book each but u can't beat having a paperback to read.
Thanks ric and dot

Hello Ricdot,

Our bus is full of fishing and cooking gear thanks to our two passions. Weight and storage became an issue in our early days because we both had opinions on what was more important, my egg whisk or his sinkers,

I don't think anyone really knows what to pack exactly when you first take off, I believe you cull and add as you go. But you may need to look into what style of camping you plan on doing. Free camps or caravan parks? Then a whole new question will need to be answered, sorry, :S
Generators, solar, water storage, refrigeration, communications, sorry again.

I read the article about Lorraine and Grahame and they have a coffee maker, bread maker and washing machine. We don't have any of the above but are more than happy to meet them when craving a real cuppa, :woohoo:

Bye,
Jess and Andy

Hi Jess and Andy,
Sounds just like us. Hubby is the fisherman and I just like to try different things, am right into craft.
We do take out small washing machine as we have found it saves heaps of money on using laundromats and takes up little room.
How long have you been travelling for? Hope you don't mind my asking.
Bye
Ric and dot

Hi, someone told us 5 sets of clothes is enough, included in those have something for the cold, and 1 good set of dress up gear for outings. For other things we find the op shops really handy as we travel,if we forgot to pack it, we buy it there.Good luck, happy travels.

Hello Ricdot,

We started our travels in November 2009 and have never looked back. We don't do many kms in between towns as we like to really have a good look around. Sometimes you need to stay still for days/weeks to get the feel of what the area has to offer, or as Andy would point out, where the fishing grounds are. Crafts is a good idea, especially when the weather keeps you indoors. I've seen people sell their creations from their camp.

Bye,
Jess and Andy
