We left Mareeba just over a week ago, the wet didn't really arrive there, which was good for us. Cairns and the cost seemed to cop it, poor things.
We're currently in Mt Isa, but will be heading across to the NT on Sunday. First stop Camooweal free camp, then Barkly and Daly Waters. We will then setup at Bitter Springs for awhile so hope we get to meet some of you there.
Cheers & beers

Blackall . This is a town with a lot of history . The original " Black Stump " is here . Take 1 step to the west of the stump and you are considered to be beyond " The Black Stump ".
The shearers union was started here in 1886 . This later became the Australian Labour Party .
Jack Howe , a legendary shearer lived here . He shore 321 sheep in 7 hours 40 minutes with hand held blades in 1892 . A world record that still stands today . And he wore the " jackie Howe " singlets .
There is a woolscour . It closed in 1978 , but has been kept in working condition by the locals . Powered by a 108 year old steam engine , everything still works . Including a 20 stand shearing shed , and yards to handle 20,000 sheep .
The campground is on the Barcoo river . 100 meters from the main shopping centre , with showers , toilets nearby , dump-point as well .
$5 pv,pn .
And plenty of yabbies in the river .
Another place worth visiting .
Cheers , Brian
Last night as I was on the stair
I saw a man that wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish he'd bloody go away.
