Where Are You

Hi all.
We're back into civilization after almost 3 weeks at cape York. What a trip!!!!!!!!!!! Having overcome thousands if not millions of corrugations, we did it and loved every bump. Kerri will outline details later but just a few lines to say we made it. We visited Thursday Island and Horn Island and I recommend it if you get that far north.
The Landcruiser never missed a beat and flew across those corrugations with ease. At first we were thinking about getting back to bitumen roads but as we progressed we were thinking about what to bring or not to bring next trip. We didn't venture onto the Telegraph track except for Fruit Bat Falls and as we were heading for Elliot we saw cars going through water over the bonnet. NO WAY we thought. This car is to take us around Aus and we didn't sant to risk it and promptly turned around. I reckon we saw everything to be seen except many cars ruined because they tried to do the rugged track and ruined their vehicle. Seisa is lined up with cars vertually a right off because of the poor condition of the track.
There was a fatality at Chilli beach so we decided to give it a miss. Also the wind was howling and they say that that means poor conditions there.
We are now in Cardwell and heading Back to Emerald to fulfill our work commitments before our next leg.

Sounds great I am enviouse I would love to have been there. Looking forward to seeing photos and a blog.

We have finally reached the stage where we have set the date of departure into the great unknown.House just about set for rental, plenty of tenants want it,Aug 1 will see us on the road to somewhere.

Back in Longreach for a few days after 3 great weeks at Boulia .
The camel races were postponed because of rain . Half the yearly rainfall average fell in the week before the races were due to start.
The good part is they ran a limited version on Monday , and it was a great day .
Stopped at the " Hilton " hotel at Middleton . This is a free camp opposite the Middleton Hotel .
The Middleton hotel is a must if you are anywhere near that area . I don't really know how to explain it , except to say " it's different " .
Don't miss it .

Then camped at the Bough Shed Hole in the Blandensburg NP , about 25 kms south of Winton .

we are at duraringa i think that is how you spell it free camp for 48 hours hot showers but no power plenty of space here also .
