I am staying at the football ground in Blyth, about 11km west of Clare in South Australia. It's a quiet little town with friendly locals. During winter the bowls club next to the ground is open for happy hour drinks from 5pm to 7pm. I didn't go out for a couple of days over the long weekend, just pottered around doing little odd jobs inside the bus. On Monday night the captain of the local CFS came over to check on my welfare, said a couple of locals hadn't seen me or the car out and about. You can stay for four days so it's a good base to explore around the Clare Valley region. I'm more than happy to leave a donation for this great little stopover.
