Where do we start?

Hi everyone, I joined GNA awhile back in preparation for retirement,well that has happened, the bride is still doing some casual work but we are looking forward to hitting the road. We have pretty much all we need, I think, but we aren't very adventurist, what we would like is to have a talk to someone that has taken the plunge and is either doing it or has done it. We like fishing,free camping and generally meeting new people.we have done a few short trips but nothing longer than a couple of weeks. Any info or advise would be appreciated. Hi Bill and Marg. Welcome to GNA. We have been travelling over the past 9 years. We have travelled most areas on road in Oz from 9 weeks to 12 weeks at a time. All you really need is time and a map! You can go as far or stay as long as you want to. We started with an on-road van, and now have our new off-roader so will start all over with new off-road adventures! Just enjoy!

It has been a little while. Did you get the leak issue sorted?
We can relate to the fishing (just had Spanish Mackeral for lunch), free camping and meeting new people. Add exploring, photography and happy hour and that just about sums us up.

Have you decided on any destinations, events, visits to friends or rellies or any itinerary yet? Where would you be starting from? We are currently in the Top End and plan to head west to Timber Creek in July.

It's a great lifestyle.

Since you are experienced, and have obviously seen and spoken to many others, I'd be interested to know what van you chose. We are in the process of looking for an off road van to head off from Melbourne late in the year.
