I ended up in the convoy of trucks delivering Hay to Ilfracombe. They may be on record for being the worlds biggest truck convoy. Someone on this forum might be able to confirm that for me.
These are the stats they told me. 258 trucks, 406 trailers, 6 Million dollars worth of hay, 1800km from Burrumbuttock to Ilfracombe, Over 13,500 rounds & square bales of hay, 800 farmers feeding 300,000 animals, Trucks from NSW, QLD, VIC, SA & TAS, 500 odd volunteers.
I hand wrote it down and couldn't find the paper that wasn't so neatly filed on my dashboard (along with home made jerky, etc) til now.
Incredibly impressive to see and a neat mob of people to meet. This shows what a true Aussie is all about. What do you think?
