Hi fellow travellers,Peter and I (Nette ) have been on the road fromSydney since 3rd April. We are having the best time ever in our pre loved Roadstar with ensuite .We travelled up the coast to Rockhampton before turning LEFT onto the Capricorn Hwy.Enjoyed3days helping out with Blaze Aid Dululu Qld rebuilding or repairing fences after the floods.
We have loved meeting fascinating people ,experiencing things we have never done before and learning so much about this wonderful country of ours!
We went as far as the Bungle Bungles and have now turned around and heading back to Katherine,Litchfield Nat Park, before headind to Darwin and Kakadu.
Highlights would have to be a flight over the Bungles, camping in our tent inside the Nat park close to the walks around the various rock formations, creek crossings (1st time 4 wheel driving for us ) in our new Colorado !
A little treasure we came across by accident was a place called Parry 's Farm 20 k's south of Whyndam .We discovered that it is world famous for bird watching. At 6am we went to one of the Billabongs in the Nature Reserve and saw the most birds we have ever seen in one place at the same time!! Our cameras were working overtime !
We haven't met any other Grey Nomad members on the road yet and people we talk to have never heard of it which is disappointing,so we would love to hear if anyone out there is going our way.
We will be in Katherine tomorrow night Mon27th.
Cheers for now Nette and Peter (our names are on the back of the van)
