Kakadu Yellow Water Billabong at Sunrise !

We have just spent a week in Kakadu Nat Park. A highlight was a sunrise breakfast boat tour on The Yellow Water Billabong.It was breath takingly beautiful! The birds and reflections in the water were amazing! Yummy breakfast at the end of the tour was an added pleasure.

We did the sunrise tour a few years back. I wish I had digital camera back then; no doubt would have taken plenty. The wildlife is truly abundant and amazing isn't it and I loved the way the paperbarks lit up with the first morning light and reflected off the glassy waters. Our tour didn't include breakfast, must go back and do it again.

Is the resident croc still there? Did you see any buffalo or wild pigs too?

Thanks Sharon.We only saw one croc which our guide knew would be there so is probably the one you mean! We saw wild horses but only tunnels through the bamboo where buffalo had been We were told most have been culled!
